Meet the team

Phil

At fifteen years old, I was fortunate enough to have a gym instructor at my sports centre invest so much of his time in showing me how to lift weights and train correctly. He essentially became an unofficial personal trainer to me! His mentoring didn’t stop there, he also encouraged me how to manage a healthy sustainable diet with amazing tips and ways to track my progress.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve maintained these good health habits and understand more than ever how the benefits from a good diet and active lifestyle drastically improve your mental well-being. I was given an opportunity to learn from an expert who wanted absolutely nothing in return. My inspiration for starting a sportswear brand really stemmed from that experience.

My mission became motivating and supporting as many people as possible to get into or maintain a healthy active lifestyle and what better way to do it than through a good community and clothing? When you look good, you feel good! Making premium clothing accessible for all is my ultimate objective so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of high-quality training gear.

My background hasn’t always been in fashion or the fitness industry. Graduating from university with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I quickly decided this wasn’t the life for me. I swiftly moved into a middle management role within Amazon and after three and a half years of logistics decided to go all in on Fallain Fitness full time.

In our short existence, I’m immensely proud that we’ve been privileged enough to give back to those less fortunate. We’ve partnered with Shelter Scotland with clothing donations and have many other initiatives planned over the coming year. I truly believe that we can make fitness accessible for all!

Andrea

I’ve been into fitness for as long as I can remember - from learning to swim at a young age to joining an athletics club in primary school and competing in 100m sprints and long jump. I was encouraged to try many different sports and to find the activities I enjoyed as that way you’d be more inclined to keep it up.

When I went onto high school, I outgrew my athletics club and found going to exercise classes (such as body pump, body combat and spin) to be a huge stress reliever throughout my exams. I continued to attend these classes multiple times a week throughout my university years and into my first full-time graduate job. When COVID-19 hit and I was unable to go to the gym, I quickly turned to at-home workouts (such as HIIT and weight training) from an online PT. Although it kept me physically and mentally in shape, I did miss the human interaction that classes provide.

While I like to build strength and keep in shape, my main motivation for exercising frequently is for my mental health - you just can’t beat the feeling of completing a workout!

One of my motivations in starting Fallain Fitness is to give back to society and to inspire more people to exercise, especially people from impoverished backgrounds. Another motivation, and where our tagline ‘escape the ordinary’ originates from, is my love for fashion and always seeking to wear clothes that are a bit different. I asked myself, why can’t I find this in sportswear? The answer was to create a new brand.

Lily

With over 10 years international design, production and brand experience I have been lucky enough to work at sportswear’s highest levels with some of the world's most talented teams.

Beginning my education at Central Saint Martins, London (The stomping grounds of Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney) I graduated to specialise in Performance Sportswear Design, before going to work at brand powerhouses Umbro and Nike.

Wanting to branch out on my own I set up a female focussed brand in 2012. Lexie won international acclaim and investment while being sold globally and worn by everyone from the Made in Chelsea cast to Lottie Moss to Olympic athletes.

I’ve been able to learn and hone my craft while working for brands like MyProtein, Hera and Martini Racing and bring my skills in design and fit together with Phil and Andreas' vision to help make Fallain escape the ordinary.

We benefit hugely from our location in Scotland and I love to step out of the studio and immerse myself in our incredible and unique landscape to gain inspiration for our prints and colours.

I’m really passionate about creating the garments that the world really wants to make a positive impact in the life of the wearer.

Alongside my design work, sports have always been a big part of my life, playing football from a young age, then moving into running where I built up to Ultra marathon distance. Most recently I have started working on strength training in the gym.
